Dear God, there are many good looking but limiting and destructive conditions that life tends to throw at us. When Jesus was offered some unreasonable conditions in the wilderness after a period of fast You led Him into, He overcame with the Word. The effect of Your Word is great and capable of helping Your children overcome the conditions the enemy offers us. That something looks good or sounds good does not mean it is good. If You say it is acceptable and the world calls it unacceptable, I will rather stick with Your opinion. You are too faithful and righteous to lead me into a lie. Help me to hide Your Word in my heart so that I can grab the needed one each time I am confronted with the deception and distraction of the tempter. The more of Your Word I know, the more I am able to escape the deceptions around me. Teach me to be able to discern the destructive but good looking conditions that the enemy presents before me as goodies wrapped in an explosive bait. AMEN
