Timely Expressions- My Exceeding Great Reward

Dear Father, there are quite a lot of things that bring fear to the heart of humans. What to eat, what to wear, where to live and several other things that point at a man having it all together. Do those of us who are Your children sometimes worry about some of these things? Yes, we do! Do You expect us to worry about them? No, You do not! Why then do we bother ourselves about these things? It is probably because we compare ourselves with others, doubt Your willingness to come through for us, or because we have our eyes fixed on temporal things. You are too Good a Father not to come through for those of us who are Your children. Help us to grow in faith, so much that we will no longer be led by our own judgement but rather that we will see You as our portion, even as we choose the path that is so good that no one can take it away from us. While it is true that others may have what “looks like” the well-watered plain, for those of us who belong to You, we can be sure that we shall not lose our portion, no matter how unappealing and irrelevant it looks to others. I receive the grace not to be afraid of what makes others afraid, knowing fully well that You are more than enough for me and You are my exceeding great reward. AMEN.
