Dear God, You are a covenant keeping God and marriage is one of the covenants You expect man ( male or female) to take seriously when entered into. Contrary to what the world feels, marriage is not a human social contract, it is a divinely instituted covenant whose rule and reign is under You. Your plan for marriage has not changed. You ordained it to be a union between a man and a woman and not between the same sex. I ask that You heal the world of the deception of same-sex marriage that has found supporters, so much that it looks like a normal thing when in the real sense it is abnormal and unacceptable in Your sight. Several people are hurting in their marriage, due to the build-up of resentment and bitterness over the years. I ask that You give such people hope and assurance of the fact that You are able to heal and restore every broken heart. I ask that You give us Christian homes, where fathers are priests indeed, where mothers are helpmeets and teachers and doers of the Word, homes where children live in honour of God and love for others. Help spouses to forgive each other as You instructed in Your Word, no matter how hard it seems. In forgiveness lies the increase in the number of United homes and families, which ultimately makes room for a better society and world at large. Teach parents to know that their decision regarding how to treat their marriage has a lasting effect ( positive or negative) on their children. Nothing is too difficult for You and so I ask at this time, that You do the impossible by visiting broken marriages, performing amazing miracles and uniting these families in Your mercy and grace. AMEN.
