Oldie But Goodie

Music according to the English App. Dictionary is a series of sounds organized in time, employing melody, harmony, tempo etc. usually to convey a mood.
It is also food to the soul. No wonder people get off bad moods by just listening to music.

The kind of music a person listens to has a way of shaping his/her life overtime and this is why good music such as hymns are important.

Hymns (from Greek hymnos, “songs of praise”), strictly, songs used in Christian worship, usually sung by the congregation and characteristically having a metrical, strophic (stanzaic), non-biblical text.

The times we live in is such that requires a constant reminder of our pilgrimage here on earth, knowing fully well that our victory in Christ is ascertained as long as we hold on to Him, not wavering.

HOLD THE FORT (Hymn Writer: Philip Paul Bliss)

Ho, my comrades! see the signal, waving in the sky!

Reinforcements now appearing, Victory is nigh.

Refrain:

`”Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still;

Wave the answer back to Heaven,`By Thy grace we will.”

See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on;

Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone!

( Chorus)

See the glorious banner waving!

Hear the trumpet blow!

In our Leader’s name we’ll triumph over every foe.
(Chorus)

Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near;

Onward comes our Great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!
(Chorus)
