It is indeed a season of having the need to be marvelously helped by God, considering that governments ,organisations and various institutions ( including religious institutions ) have not being able to help citizens of different nations as much and the strength of many is beginning to fail them as a result of this.
To be marvelously helped by God will require that we trust God even when everything He decides to do does not make sense to us as humans.
I can imagine how challenging it must have been for Noah to walk in obedience to God’s will while everyone mocked him as he built the ark that God asked him to build.
Although passers by probably thought he was insane and that they were the sane ones but time eventually revealed who was or was not in their right minds because Noah was marvelously helped by God to ignore the mockery of others( if they actually mocked him), as he focused on what was important to God, though it actually looked foolish in the sight of men but was actually wise and acceptable in God’s sight.
All that God has promised you and spoken to you concerning this year and beyond does not have to make sense to anyone as long as it makes sense to God. The most important players in the fulfillment of your life purpose is yourself and God. Every other player is simply who or what God will allow to be involved in getting His will done in your life. ( Jeremiah 29:11)
Noah could not fully understand what God was set to do even as he built the ark, yet he acted in faith as he failed to allow the mockery of others stop him from carrying out the very important instructions that would later save his life, that of his family, all animals, as well preserve the entire world. ( Romans 4:21, Hebrews 11:7)
To build an ark that will contain all specie of animals is definitely not an easy task yet this man named Noah built it , not because he was that powerful and strong or capable on his own but because he found grace before God and he was marvelously helped by God. ( Genesis 6:8)
If he had spent his time looking at and responding to those who mocked him while he built the ark, he would have being wasting precious time. God sees every of your labour and efforts that are in line with His will and He would never allow it go unrewarded. ( Hebrews 6:10)
Do you think Noah got tired as he built the ark? I personally feel he did but God’s help and strength kept him going. There is a lot of mental, financial, emotional, physical stress that comes with this season in which the world is trying to recover from the effects of the Covid -19 pandemic that has affected a lot of us in one way or another but the truth is that trying to help oneself will only result in being more stressed. ( 2 Corinthians 3:4-5, 1 Samuel 2:9)
Rather than struggle to help yourself, it’s more sensible and right to allow God help you when you know that what lies ahead of you is more than you can deal with humanly speaking. ( Luke 5:4-6)
You are not alone in the journey of life. The One who made you did not go to sleep after creating you. He is at work just as He was when you were formed in your mother’s womb unknown to anyone. If neither you nor your parents were aware of the moment your conception took place, don’t you think it is right to say that there are quite a lot of amazing things that the same God who made you is doing in and through you that you cannot see and you are unaware of? ( Psalm 139:13-16)
The greatest help you can ever get is the one that comes from the Almighty God, the One who is not limited in resources, who does not fail or throw His help in the face of the helped, the one whose help is sure and reliable. Unlike the help of God, the help of man only comes with peace when it is ordained by God, else, man will help you and eventually try to choke life out of you simply because of the help they rendered to you. ( Psalm 60:11, Psalm 118: 8-9, Psalm 146: 3-4)
The choice is yours. Will you allow God into every situation that looks irrepairable: that marriage and any other form of relationship that looks completely irredeemable, that pain, disappointment and hurt that has affected your mind so much you don’t want to have anything to do with God or the Church of Christ, the loss of a loved one or something really valuable to you that left you broken, so much you feel God failed you or abandoned you when you needed Him most, and several other things that could have affected you and probably made others mock you or doubt the potency of God’s power in your life. ( Matthew 27:29- 41)
Just as Noah decided to trust God’s Word and obey His instructions despite the fact that the flood had not even started when he began to build the ark( Great faith at work), make up your mind to listen to and carry out every instruction that the One who sees, knows and hears all things reveals to you in this last quarter of the year, no matter how foolish and unreasonable it looks to you and others, after all He is God and before or after Him is none! (1 Corithians1:25-29)
Always remember that the foolish things of God are capable of birthing the greatest wonders we will ever experience. E.g The conception and birth of Jesus through a virgin, the death of Jesus on the Cross which brought about salvation for all mankind, baptism by immersion that signifies our dying with Christ and resurrecting in Him, etc. ( 1 Corinthians 1:27, Romans 5:12-21)
Being alive gives us another chance to live in such a way that is pleasing to the One who made us and reserves the right to instruct us in the way to go. As you journey in this last quater of the year 2020, have it at the back of your mind that God is willing to marvelously help you but he requires that just as Noah, you are willing to carry out all of His instructions. ( Genesis 6:22, Genesis 7:5)
Have a beautiful and splendid last quarter of 2020.
