I met a really adorable boy recently and one thing that drew me to him is his attitude towards life. I noticed the fact that he smiles at the mention of his name or even at the slightest joke or statement made by anyone.
I was not initially so curious about his sweet spirit, considering that some people are just like that. Something however drew my attention to this little boy’s attitude towards life when he did something wrong and his guardian corrected him firmly, yet he apologized with a sweet smile on his face.
At that point, I knew God was trying to teach me a lesson through the life of this little boy, because his attitude towards a firm correction did not just make sense at the time. Who gives a sweet smile when disgraced before everyone? Quite a few people, I suppose.
In my curiosity, I asked other people if they had noticed this ever smiling little boy’s attitude towards life and the response I got brought a big smile to my face. I was told he is bound to smile, no matter what because his name is Issac, which means -“Laughter.”
Life is too short for anyone to go around looking sad and melancholic all the time. Although life sometimes throw unpleasant things our way, yet it does not mean we should become who life wants us to be – Sad and Sorrowful!
JOB 8:21(NLT)
“ He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.”
A song writer said “Put a smile on your face, no matter the condition you find yourself, Smile.” Talking about smiles and its effect on our health, it is actually said that smiling more often, regardless of your mood, can improve your health and help you live longer.
If this is something smiling does to our health, I guess it is worth smiling all the way or through it all. Looking sad does not actually change the state of things, rather it affects our health, look and relationship with others negatively.
Just like Little Isaac, as much as you can, put a smile on your face, no matter what is going on around you and you will be amazed at how your smile can brighten up someone else’s mood and decision for good.
