All Round Wellness

I believe the most under looked aspect of health is our mental and emotional health. When we hear the word “health”, we tend to think; My heart, my head, my hands, e.t.c. Well, beyond all these, there is a need to pay attention to some other areas, which is what we will be looking at today.

Point is, we hardly pay attention to our emotional and mental health. Are they the same? No, they aren’t? Are they intertwined, Yes they are. Why should I care about them, is it really necessary? I don’t have the time… Well you should because God wants you to be in good health and that includes your emotions and your mentality.

Let’s look at what David said in Psalms 34:18The Lord is close to all whose hearts are crushed by pain, and He is always ready to restore the repentant one

I can deduce from this passage that God is closest to you when you’re at your lowest. I mean He is readily offering comfort there and then. He’s ready to hold you close and reassure you.

See here also “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind“. (2 Timothy 1:7)

I personally wondered why Paul didn’t say “but of courage” since he was talking about fear. It’s because, Perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18) and fear is a torment to the mind. It’s deeply intertwined with almost every emotional or mental health issue out there.

So we see that God cares about our emotional and mental health and he wants us to be whole in those areas too.

Guess what! The first step to being whole is to believe that God loves you. Like I said earlier, perfect love, drives out fear. Completely.

God loves you very much. He always has, and He always will. It is from this love that His desire to see us whole comes from.

So you see, God cares about your all round health and we’re here to help you on this journey.
