Dear Lord, You showed me the true meaning of what love is by suffering so long for me on the Cross. Before and after You went to the Cross, You could have decided to change Your mind and turn Your back on the will of the Father, but You endured. You were not out to seek Your own pleasure, but my victory through Your sufferings. You are a true Doer of what You say, because You did not just teach me to love by mere Words, but You taught me what true love is by enduring the pain, shame and reproach that preceded Your death. What men call love is sometimes as a result of what they get from the loved. In Your case, it was not about what I had to give, but what You had to give – Your life! Help me to love You endlessly in return.
