Dear God, I cannot stop asking myself why You care so much about me. My joy is in knowing that I am loved by You not because of what I did to deserve it or how well I did anything but because of who You are- Love. Your love unlike that of mere Mortals is not based on feelings, it is never about me pleasing You or not. Your love is something I enjoy simply because it is who You are. Your love is unconditional, so much that even when there is nothing good in me, You remain good. I was saved by the unconditional love that took you to the Cross. You took my place and became poor, so I could be rich. Just as You gave up everything so I can have a meaningful life, help me to love others so much I will be willing to give up anything if the need ever arises. I will always remember I was not worthy of the love that brought me salvation and with this understanding, I will honour Your Word about my need to love not just the deserving but the undeserving also. Teach me to live my life with the understanding of the summary of what all your commandment is- Love God, Love others! I will walk in love not because of how good or deserving anyone is but because I am born of God and called to be like my Heavenly Father. AMEN.
