Dear God, there are times we ask some questions that point at how much we value our lives so much we are not willing to lay it down for You. One of these questions is -Why did You allow Stephen die the way he did and in the hands of some many people including the same man that later became a mighty vessel in Your hands (Apostle Paul)? It must have been a painful death, yet Stephen was willing to die for what he believed even as he cried unto you for mercy for his persecutors. You are the Giver of life and You have no pleasure in the death of the work of Your hands, which teaches us that You do all that You do for the best reasons even if they are unknown to us. As much as no one wants to die for no just cause, there is no greater cause to die for than for Your name, word and glory. If the soldiers of the nations of the world can be willing to lay down their lives for their nation, it becomes a shameful and painful thing for You to see the soldiers enlisted into Your army not willing to die for Your cause. As hard as this sounds, it is a truth we as Your chosen have to hear often and remind ourselves of. Help me to live for You and fulfil all that You have called me to do. Help me to be willing to lay down my life for Your cause whenever the need arises. Teach me to redeem the time and also to be willing to suffer with You instead of suffering with the world for the things that do not bring You glory. Keep my life safe and secure in Your mighty hands till I see You in glory. AMEN.
