Even When You Do Not Know It.

Hubby and I were on a missions trip and our flight back to our base was all smooth, except that on getting to our final destination and trying to get our carry on bags out of the overhead locker, we were welcomed by a rat that was running to and fro in the locker that was directly above our seats though we never knew it was there all through the journey.

Considering that I naturally cannot stand rats, hubby thought I was only exaggerating when I told him I had just seen a rat at the point of picking my box. He later discovered it was true and tried getting our luggages without having the rat jump out of its hiding.

Other people whose luggages were on the same spot also discovered there was a rat jumping around for real and we all laughed about it as we got our luggages out. That was quite interesting to me because an aircraft that had just travelled from one country to another had given this rat the opportunity to freely migrate.

While it is not nice that we had a rat on board, I was thankful its presence did not cause anyone harm because I personally would have screamed and almost made use of the exit if that creature had jumped on me on board. I can imagine the kind of confusion its presence would have caused for the passengers if it was not locked up in the cabin for the number of hours the aircraft was in the sky. How bad would the trip have been for passengers like myself who cannot stand rats, having to know that we were traveling with one?

This actually got me thinking about the numerous dangers God averts for us without our knowledge, yet we sometimes think He has not done enough simply because we are expecting one thing or the other from Him which is yet to be done. Rather than dwelling on what He has not done, it is important that we learn to appreciate Him not just for what He has done for us that we are aware of but also for the things we did not request for that He chose to bless us with. If He can bless us with the things we did not specifically ask for, what makes us think He will not bless us with the things we specifically desire? (Matthew 5:45)

Someone could have had an heart attack on board  because of the presence of that rodent, the pilot could have been distracted, an air hostess could have mistakenly spilled a cup of hot coffee on a passenger at the sight of the rat, anything could have gone wrong because a rat was on board but nothing of such happened because God kept that creature locked up in an enclosed place for as long as the plane was in the air. (Psalm 32:7)

You are worth more than the lilies of the valley, birds of the air, and anything that God created because humans are the ones He gave dominion over all that He created an the assignment of preaching salvation to others to enable mankind’s reconciliation back to his Maker. You are of great value to Him and it is not in His nature to treat you like you mean nothing to Him. (Genesis 1:26- 28)

When people go through stuffs or see people they love go through unpleasant situations or death, they are quick to blame God and sometimes they go ahead and renounce their faith in Him claiming He failed to help them when they needed Him most. As far as God is concerned, He derives no joy in seeing the lives of men waste for no reason even though He reserves the right to give and take any life. He is too good a Father to go about striking the work of His hands down. (Job 1:20-21, Job 12:10)

He has no reason to let your life end up wasted like the enemy wants you to think. The one who is out to waste your life if he is permitted to do so is the devil whose intention is to steal, kill and destroy.  If the enemy of yourself and God- the devil had his way, grace would not have kept you till now because he wants you with him in the place of doom and eternal torment that has been prepared for himself and his angels. (Matthew 25:41 )

Rather than believe a lie, embrace the truth of God’s Word that says ” … For he that touches you touches the apple of God’s eyes ” The very hairs of your head are all numbered …”. (Zechariah 2:8Matthew 10: 29-31). The earth has to be filled with the knowledge and glory of our God and this assignment is yours and mine to carry out by the grace of our Maker and we cannot afford to live for anything else but that which matters most to Him – Lost souls. ( Habakkuk 2:14)

As long as you are a part of His divine agenda, you can be rest assured your life matters more to Him  than you know. And you can relax, irrespective of all that you can see, knowing that He is at work in your life even when you do not know it.
