God Has Better Plans

Little Mary simply wanted to marry Joseph

The big God of Israel wanted more for her;

Mary looked forward to been called Mrs Joseph,

The God of the Universe had a bigger and better plan for her.

She smiled confidently as she imagined herself

as the bride of the man she loved.

He who sits in Heaven laughed,

He carefully planned what He considered more honourable for her.

She wanted to be a wife and mother of children just like everyone else,

God was willing to make her the mother of the King of all the earth.

Each time she looked in the mirror,

she envisioned sons and daughters that looked just like Joseph and herself.

When God looked at her,

He saw sons and daughters who were created in the image of their Heavenly Father.

She wanted a drama free and normal life

Just like every other woman,

Yahweh graced her with an extraordinarily distinct life filled with glory.

Her lineage had no such relevance,

Not until when she was chosen to birth the Saviour of the world

God’s plan was to give her an unending relevance.

A name that will always be on Mortal tongue,

She will always be called the mother of Jesus!

Her son’s name will never lose its relevance and power.

As long as His story is told, her story will always be told:

His-story (history) begins with her story.

A virgin births a son whose name is Jesus,

Forever will God’s graciousness to Mary be a blessing to the world

Blessed is the womb that bore the Saviour of the world

Long live the King of the world.

KEY SCRIPTURE:

ISAIAH 55:9

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
