Growing In Christ

Leading or Following?

The greatest concern of a lot of people when they realize Christ has called them to follow Him is that they have to leave something(s), in order to be able to follow Him indeed.

Truly, that a man has to follow Jesus means he has to leave somethings behind and simply pick up other things that are given to him. To think that you can follow while you still remain the same, cling to the same things, and just put Jesus somewhere in it all is mere wishful thinking.

The beautiful thing about following Jesus is that He does not take away those things from us to hurt us, or strip us off good things. What He simply does is to make those things stay in their rightful place, fulfilling the purpose for which they are given to us.

MATTHEW 19:27-30

“Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.”Read More »Leading or Following?

Asking God Questions

When people go through difficult times, no matter how old, or young such people are, they often wonder and ask why God permitted the occurrence of such things . That this question pops up in our minds does not necessarily mean we doubt God’s role as a caring Father. It only proves that we are mere mortals whose understanding of God is so limited we can be blinded to His unfailing love, as a result of what we are faced with or how hard some situations are.

Recently, I was moved to ask a question I have not asked in a very long time. “Why did God allow this to happen?” Some people think it is a big deal to ask God questions when unpleasant things happen to us or someone dear to us. This is sometimes based on  the understanding of the fact that God is Unquestionable.Read More »Asking God Questions

Just as it Sounds

There are some things we do not talk about as we ought to, considering the effect of such things on our immediate emotional response. Interestingly, that we do not talk about such matters does not change the truth that comes with, it remains just as it sounds!

The need to confess Christ in the face of death is one thing we often times neglect. It  is talked about, but not as much as it should be. The present day Christian has heard so much about what Jesus is able to do for him or her , but has probably never heard that the need may someday arise to die for Christ.Read More »Just as it Sounds

Genuine or Fake Love ?

Why would you pray to someone you do not talk about, appreciate, reverence, obey or treat as He should be treated? The answer is simple “It is because you think you are smarter than He is, and so you can get Him to do for you whatever you want, at whatever time you want it done, and for whatever reason you want it done!”

Another question regarding genuine or fake love is “How can you claim to love someone and not talk about Him or her? The answer is also not difficult. It is simply because your supposed love for that person is fake.Read More »Genuine or Fake Love ?

Sensitive to Prophecies ?

It is quite interesting to know that a lot of things going on now in the world should not be as surprising as it really is, considering that there are prophecies that precede these happenings. These prophesies are meant to inform, prepare and warn us of whatever is to be known or avoided.

Prophecies are the foretelling or prediction of what is to come. It is one of God’s ways of revealing both His plans and that of His enemy and the enemy of man to him. Sadly, man fails to carefully search God’s Word for what He already predicted, which makes it difficult to understand God’s intention for whatever He reveals ahead of time.Read More »Sensitive to Prophecies ?
