Hug Filled Moments

I have always been a not too concerned about hugs kind of person. Getting a hug from someone has never really made any difference to me until recently. I had a hug filled moment that changed my thought about hugs– Genuine ones though.

I am the tough and not too bothered about anything kind of girl, and I have a way of bottling up so much until I get to the point of explosion. Then I cry- Uncontrollably. Did I just reveal that? YES! Because you have become a part of my world and I love you( Smiles.)

I thought I had it all together until just one big hug from someone I met recently revealed the state of my heart to me. I was actually craving for a motherly affection, but I did not realize it until that moment. I was so glad I could release all I had locked up inside without feeling ashamed as my tears rolled down and got my glasses blurry. I could not but thank the amazing woman that gave me the hug that reminded me of God’s love and presence with me.

The interesting thing is that she was not out to get anything from me, which could have made the hug such that could be seen as a deceptive or manipulative one. It was a hug that spoke deep words of love, understanding and concern. It was Divine  Nothing mattered more to me as she held me close to her and said to me ” God is with You, be encouraged.”

This thought me a great lesson concerning hugs. Hugs give you an assurance that you are loved, remembered, and accepted.

As I drove away from the house of this loving lady, all I could think of was how she stood in the rain and spoke with me a little more, before she gave me the final big hug that screamed ” You are loved.” This made my day and got me singing all evening.

When you love people out of a sincere heart, it becomes obvious to the loved. If the love you show on the other hand is based on what you stand to gain from someone, it becomes obvious as well. God is sincere with His love for His own and will always love without asking for anything in return. This kind of love just wants to be there for you through the rough and smooth times.

If the hug of an ordinary mortal could mean so much, how much more the embrace of the Supernatural God who is Double breasted and with an ever outstretched arm? Amazingly calming and assuring is what I have found out His hug feels like.

Do You need unconditional love? Look to God and not to man. God is the source of love and the Giver of the grace for humans to love one another. Instead of searching for love in uncertain places, search for the One who is constantly reaching out to embrace and pour out His love on the brokenhearted, forgotten, forsaken, hurting, neglected, grieving and helpless.

As much as you can, love others and serve people in the way God expects you to. However, Never rely on them for the kind of love you expect to always know when you are in need emotionally, materially, maritally, financially, and spiritually. You may just be disappointed.

God’s Word is an easy path to getting His embrace close to You. Give time to His Word and you will no doubt experience His warm embrace from every Word He reveals to you. Have a hug filled moment from Him and genuinely loving people He brings your way as you begin or continue to check out His Word of life and hope.

1 JOHN 3:1

” Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”

ROMANS 5:8

”  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us .”

ROMANS 8:38-39

” For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

REVELATION 3:20

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
