If Only You Know

I wrote a piece recently, and a lot of people wanted to know who and what it was all about. For some reasons, quite a number of people thought it was something they could relate with, considering that they have also failed in being there for a loved one at the time he or she needed them most.

We all have such moments when all that matters to us is our own lives alone, but if we are careful enough to look closely, we will realize that we are actually doing so great, and have no reason to worry about our own lives.

If only we will pick up the phone and call that person, visit that family, say a word of prayer for that child as we are led, give that gift of love that is capable of putting a smile on someone’s face, be more attentive to the needs of our children, and most importantly live an exemplary life for someone to follow.

We all go through such periods in life when things do not seem too pleasant and we sometimes wish someone will reach out to us, stand in the gap and pray, hug us so tight, give us a pat on the back or simply tell us they care about us.

Sadly, we sometimes never get to have anyone do as we desire at such crucial times. Everyone is simply busy trying to fix their own lives, which leaves us with just one option- The need to turn to God for help.

PSALM 27: 10

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.”

Thinking someone is always going to be there for you is just wishful thinking , because no one has the ability to be there for another person every moment of their lives. No matter how bad things get however, God is always there with His own. If only you know how much He is willing to abide with you through it all.

ISAIAH 49: 14-16

But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.”

Yes, the write-up “I Wish” was birth from a heart that hurts, because it was not there for a loved one when he needed her most. Right now, all i can do is trust God for His mercy as i cry out for a way out for my adorable, promising, yet neglected and forsaken loved one, whose situation is dependent on God’s unfailing mercy and grace.

The present situation a lot of people have found themselves is as a result of some people’s careless, selfish, irresponsible and unacceptable attitude towards those God put in their care.

Your carelessness can cause more harm than you ever thought possible. Sadly, it can leave a terrible scar behind, even for generations yet to be born. All it takes to avoid this, is a heart that is willing to be responsible enough to look out for others, who do not necessarily have to be your family members or relatives alone, but anyone God brings your way.

Things do not have to get out of hand before we show the next person how much we care for, love and appreciate them. If only you know what difference your prompt action can make in someone’s life!

If you presently feel forsaken, dismayed, neglected, unloved, look no where else, but unto the God of all the Creations – Your Maker. Do not give in to the lie of the devil that you are of no value to anyone. The truth is you are worth more than you know. If only you know how much you are worth!

ROMANS 5:8

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

You are worth so much that your limitation does not stop Him from showering His unfailing love on you, even when you do not deserve it.
