Let It Be Known To All Men

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Matthew 24:14

Do you sometimes feel tired, overwhelmed, and discouraged to preach the gospel as a result of you constantly meeting with people who pay little or no attention to what you have to say?

Like Apostle Paul, we are to focus on the beauty of the Good news we are to share with others. This means so much to our Maker and we cannot let the rejection of this Good news from men discourage us from doing what is needful, which is- the preaching of the gospel. While some will hear and outrightly reject Christ, others will give it a thought and later accept the Truth, some will however be convicted and accept Christ immediately. Whatever men will do with the gospel is not yours to decide but you are called to declare it regardless. 1 Timothy 4:12

WHAT IS THE GOOD NEWS? (John 3:16)

 The Good news is :
 * That we were dead in sin. Ephesians 2:1
 * We could not help ourselves out, neither could religion. John 3:1-7
 * Jesus the Son of God was born of a virgin. Luke 1:26-37
 * He went to the Cross on our behalf. John 19:1
 * He took care of our sins by dying in our place. 1 Peter3:18
 * He rose from the grave on the third day. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
 * He gives a new life to as many that will come to Him in repentance. Colossians 2:12
 * The new life in Christ grants us access to the Father now and eternally. Romans 6:23

What the Scripture says is that everyone has to hear the gospel, according to Matthew 24:14, it never said everyone has to believe the gospel before Christ will return. This implies the need for men to spread the good tidings of our Saviour wherever man is found.

It is no news that people give their time to attending Church services/ gatherings and they leave without necessarily believing the message of salvation or accepting the savior of the world into their heart. This does not change the fact that they have heard the Truth and whatever they choose to do with the Truth becomes a thing of personal decision.

While it hurts to know that sometimes the gospel of Christ is preached and some choose not to believe it, the good thing is that the more the gospel is preached as a testimony to the nations, the closer we get to the return of our King.

Look around you and be sincere with yourself,- Is it worth it delaying the return of our Master considering all that is going on in the world today? Rather than fold your hands and do nothing about putting a permanent end to the chaos, uncertainty, wickedness, falling away of the saints and destructions that we see and hear about all around us, there is a need to get involved in the last assignment Jesus gave to us as His disciples-  The Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20)

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?
Every one of us who are His disciples has a role to play with regards to the return of our King. There is no excuse for anyone considering that it’s not a one size fits all kind of situation( there are several ways you can personally choose to get involved ). You can choose either to get involved or not going forward by:

Declaring the gospel to everyone that comes your way. Preach, teach the undiluted and unfailing Word of God that leads to salvation to people.  Sometimes, however, some people will not be able to come your way but you can “Go” their way.

Go to those who cannot come to you: at such times, it’s not about how convenient it is but how important our going is to the saving of the souls of men and the expanding of the kingdom of God. Your going can change a whole community that could not have easily come to you to hear of the good tidings of the kingdom. E.g John 4

–  Sow the seed of prayers into the unreached people group in various nations of the world- that the door of the gospel will be open in such territories. You can pray for backsliders as well, knowing fully well that they are in danger of the manipulations of the enemy of their souls.

Give to the course of the spreading of the gospel: even though this has been abused by some receivers, the truth remains that some genuine laborers are still focusing on the harvest relentlessly.
There are still organizations and people who are not out to use gospel funds for personal gains or to fulfill their dream lifestyle. Be wise in giving to this cause by prayerfully going about where to sow financial seeds to aid the spread of the gospel so you do not end up fuelling the appetite of those whose belly has become their gods and who care less about using the funds donated by others to reach the world for Christ.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Someone once said to me ” I don’t want Jesus to return now because I have not experienced what it feels like to be married” Some years later, she got married and I asked her 2 years later if she was satisfied with having the experience of being married and if she would want Jesus to return now? Her response was ” I am tired of the responsibilities that come with being married, let Christ not delay in returning anymore.”

Just like this humourous friend of mine, a lot of us are so comfortable in this land of pilgrimage that we go about life constantly pursuing our dreams and aspirations, quietly murmuring in our hearts several reasons we do not want Christ to return yet. If the reason you do not want Christ to return now is because of your unfulfilled personal desires and not the desire that all men hear the Gospel and turn to Christ in repentance, you might need to ask yourself the question – “Whose am I?” True disciples have a burning passion for the souls of the lost.

It should not come as a surprise that some people, including some Christians, have stored up so much in this world that they do not want the return of the Master to draw nearer. They would rather we continue living here on earth than have all men hear the gospel after which Christ will return for the saints.

The one who rules in your heart determines the things your heart longs for. If you know that the beauty to be revealed at the second coming of our Master- Jesus Christ, is greater than whatever glory we have seen here on earth, your heart cry will be ” Come, Lord, Come, even now! Come.”

Do not be carried away by the fading glories of this world so much that you begin to desire the prolonging of the return of our King.

Get back on track, remember to whom you belong, refocus on the reality of His second coming, and the need to spread the good tidings around, be passionate about the lost souls all around you.

Let it be known to all men… The King is coming in glory and in majesty and every eye will see the King.

Shalom.
