The Truth That Can Be Trusted

And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.”

Genesis 16:15-21

Dear Lord, You are the Truth and in You is the right judgement. My sense of judgement cannot always be trusted because of my inability to see things the way You see them. I see the present but You look into the future. Whenever You give me a glimpse of the future, You only reveal it to me in part but I am aware that at such times, You are fully aware of all the necessary details that are not revealed to me. I cannot rely on my own thoughts and feelings if I want to live a life that pleases You and promotes Your Kingdom. I ask that You fill me with Your Spirit- the Spirit of truth. You are the Truth and wherever You choose to dwell, falsehood is bound to give way. Make my life Your dwelling place as I fill my heart with Your unfailing and unchanging Words of life. When I become confused regarding what You will have me do, let the light of Your Word shine brightly on my path and lead me in the way to go. I will hold on to the Truth that is capable of setting me free no matter how inviting the deceptions and distractions on my path looks. I will embrace the Truth because the Truth will uphold me and bring me to safety always. AMEN.
