” The waters covered their adversaries;
not one of them survived.
Then they believed his promises
and sang his praise.
But they soon forgot what he had done
and did not wait for his plan to unfold.”
– Psalm 106: 11-13, NIV
Dear Father, You are good and great indeed are Your acts. We are quick to forget the amazing victories of the past when we are confronted with difficult situations. Teach us to always remember that Your ability to do great things in the past is still available for the present and the future. When we celebrate victories, remind us that until this life is over, there will always be wars to be won and victories to celebrate. Help us not to get carried away by the victories of the present moment to the point of losing our guard regarding the battles that are to be fought and won in the future. The confidence we have as Your children is that we are more than conquerors and victorious because Christ already overcame on our behalf and now all we have to do is to appreciate the Victory He has made available to us. As long as You are for us, we can rest in Your Word, knowing fully well that we are not fighting to victory, we are fighting from victory. May we never forget all that You have done in the past to save us from the plan of our enemies. AMEN
