When More is not Needed

Each day comes with its challenges and issues, so much that we sometimes are not able to deal with what comes with some days. The human nature however has a way of asking for more, when it is not necessarily needed.

I had just spent 4 hours on my website, trying to write, edit, post and reply some messages. As soon as i was done with that, i knew i needed to shut down the computer and rest, considering that the next day was going to be demanding. What happened next is what brought about this write – up.

I suddenly felt this urge to write ahead of the next day, so i won’t have to spend so much time doing so the next day. Truth be said, i just kept typing and deleting all i wrote, because nothing was making sense to me from the writings.

Then i decided to take the rest that was actually needed , but not without finding a dose of the Word of God. As i opened the Bible, what was in front of me was not only comforting, but also reproving and rebuking.
MATTHEW 6: 34

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

I could not help laughing at myself, because i knew it was God’s way of telling me to leave tomorrow to take care of itself. If only we will learn to let the flesh listen to our Spirit man, we will have less to worry about and more achievements recorded ultimately.

As God will have it, the next day was indeed awesome and i was able to deal with the issues that came with it gracefully, simply because i did not allow myself to be consumed by my desire for “more than was needed” the previous day.

I was able to write much more than i usually write within 2 hours the next day and it was so amazing i said to myself ” Sometimes, More is not always Needed.”

Sincerely apply this to your own life and you will discover that the headache, heart ache, worries and troubles of the moment are most times as a result of you wanting more of what is not necessarily needed.

The challenges of each day is enough, and sometimes more than enough for you to deal with. There is a need to stop adding to it, by bringing that of the next day, weeks, months, years into just one day.

Even God appoints a time and season to all things.

ECCLESIASTES 3: 1-8

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Embrace the beauty of each day or moment and stop asking for more than is needed at any given time. There comes a time when more is not needed, because it ends up causing more harm than good.
